Lisbon
I went to Portugal for 8 days, flying from Bergamo to Lisbon and back from Faro, which is in the south of the country (€47 RT). My first 3 days were spent in Lisbon. It’s a lovely city.

The first evening I watched the sunset near the port. I love watching trains pass.

The next morning Lisbon was living its life like usual. Someone was exchanging oranges for lemons.

Another local decided to start the day with violence.

The foreigner got fed up demonstrating with a weird poster, so he hanged a picture of his important deed instead.

And I, as a tourist, decided to visit the tourist sites.

A distinguishable element of Portuguese cities is the pavement made out of white and black stones, which are often arranged in different patterns.

After this I visited Cascais: a town by the ocean.
On another day I decided to visit the part of Lisbon on the other side of the river. So I took a ferry across.

On the other side, there’s a cool trendy path along the water.

It’s much easier to appreciate the bridge from this side.

Bridge
Looks like just the one in San Francisco.
![](/assets/img/lisbon/26.jpg)
hmmm
The bridge has a top level for cars and a bottom one for trains.

Multilevel
Water transport uses an even lower level.
